I want to install Avast! AntiVirus v4.8 on my flash drive (4GB PNY Attache). I tried to do this with BitDefender Free Edition v10, but I couldn't run it on another computer and it said that there was some .dll missing. Can I do it with Avast!? if not, what antivirus will work from a flash drive without errors? Please no U3 applications, as my flash drive is not a free u3 applicationsU3 drive.
P.S. What's a .dll?
You need to have Avast! installed on the local machine to be able to run it. As far as I know there is no way to run it solely from a USB device.
.dll stands for Dynamic Link Library.
alright have your flash plugged in. go to and click to download it, when it asks you to open or save, click save and choose browse and choose yfree u3 applicationsour flash driver. you have to save that first thing it asks you to because that is the installation. so dont click run. then plug your flash drive into another computer and open it onto your other computer to start the installation progress
ClamWin Portable will run from a flash drive without installation on the infected computer. Free:
